Reindeer Games

“Baby, you’ve had too much to drink….let someone else go to get it.” Lauren begged, tugging on his arm gently. Nick smelled of vodka…he was slightly tipsy but coherent enough to know what was going on.

“It’s just down the street.” he said, heading for the door. He wanted cranberry sauce…not the fresh kind that Kevin had brought but the jellied kind in the can he loved so much. The store was just down the street and it was Christmas Eve. They were having dinner at AJ’s place to celebrate his marriage with Rochelle and everyone was spending the night at his house.

“Nick, she’s right…let someone else go get it.” Brian said but the door closed. Nick trudged out into the cold air and headed down the sidewalk. He remembered his house was just two blocks down the street….he had bought the cranberry sauce the day before. It wouldn’t take long to get it and come back. He had reached the road when he heard sleighbells above him. Nick didn’t have time to look up….he felt something hard hit his head and he fell to the ground in a heap, snow falling gently around him as he lay there motionless.

“He’s been gone too long.” Lauren said, rubbing her arm as she looked out of the window at the falling snow.

“Maybe we should go look for him.” Kevin suggested. Brian volunteered and the two of them went outside. There was half of an Inch of snow on the ground already and Brian ran when he saw the blood. Nick’s body lay not far from the end of the driveway, partially covered in snow and a pool of blood under his head.

“Oh, my god…he’s…he’s dead…” Brian gasped. Nick’s skull was cracked open, exposing his brain and the snow under him was stained with blood. Kevin shook his head in disbelief. Bloody marks were on Nick’s back…clearly belonging to an animal of some kind.

“What do you think it was?” Kevin asked, not seeing any animal tracks other than the ones on Nick’s back.

“I know it seems crazy….but I think Nick was run over by a reindeer…” Brian said, not wanting to believe it himself. An autopsy of Nick’s body later confirmed it…Nick Carter, 31 years old was run over by a reindeer…

Nick Carter got run over by a reindeer
Walking home from AJ’s Christmas Eve
You could say there’s no such thing as Santa But as for me and Kevin we believe

Nick was drinking too much vodka
And Lauren begged him not to go
He forgot his car keys
And he staggered out the door into the snow

When we found him Christmas morning
At the scene of the attack
He had a huge gash on his forehead
And bloody hoof prints all down his back

Nick Carter got run over by a reindeer
Walking home from AJ’s Christmas Eve
You could say there’s no such thing as Santa
As for me and Kevin we believe

Now we’re all so proud of Lauren
She’s been taking this so well
Sitting there watching football
Drinking beer and playing cards here with Rochelle

It’s not the same without Nicky
All the guys are dressed in black
And we all can’t help but wonder
Should we cancel the whole tour or have Kevin come back

KEVIN COME BACK!

Nick Carter got run over by a reindeer
Walking home from our house Christmas Eve You can say there’s no such thing as Santa
But as for me and Kevin we believe

Now the dinner is on the table
And our turkey is mighty big AJ’s looking for his lighter
So he can go outside and have a cig

I’ve warned all the fans and wrote them on Twitter
“Better watch out for yourselves
They should never give a a license
To a man that drives a sleigh and plays with elves…”

Nick Carter got run over by a reindeer
Walking home from AJ’s Christmas Eve
You can say there’s no such thing as Santa
But as for me and Kevin we believe

Sing it Kevin

Nick Carter got run over by a reindeer
Walking home from AJ’s Christmas Eve
You can say there’s no such thing as Santa
But as for me and Kevin we believe….

Merry Christmas..

(song lyrics are written by me and are a parody of the classic Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer by Elmo and Patsy)
